Welcome back to my blog series! I hope you are enjoying the posts thus far. I have already shared Moeed’s aspirations and motivations, so my focus for the next interview was something about the average day and life of Moeed. In the interview, I asked Moeed to pick one thing he couldn’t live without. The exception was it couldn’t be family, as I feel that is something we all can’t live without. But special shout out to his parents because he mentioned how grateful he was for everything they have done for him. So, besides family Moeed says he can’t live without working out and exercising. That sounds pretty hardcore…
Why the Weights?
He found his passion for working out in the 7th grade, inspired by his fellow classmate who ran a wicked fast mile. Moeed took up running until high school, when he starting weightlifting as well. First of all, kudos to him because I can barely lift the bar that you put the weights on! Working out turned more series for him when his coach taught better preparations and routines.
I also asked why he couldn’t live without working out. It is one thing to have a passion for something, but another to have something so significant to everyday life. Moeed says that working out helps him get away from reality. Lifting weights, running, and exercise help relieve the stress, and he attempts to only focus on the task at hand. He says working out affects his personality because he is less stressed and frustrated. Exercise and weightlifting also improve his focus and commitment. Ultimately, working out helps him relax. That may seem strange because it’s such a laborious activity, but mentally and physically it helps him escape.
Stress- Free Success
This interview was most interesting because I also like to use exercise as an escape. I don’t think I could live without all of my after school activities either. I was excited to find a connection between Moeed and I. Something we can’t live without is an escape from the stress and demanding aspects of our lives, goals, and reality in general. It’s nice to shut out the world and do something we enjoy, get our blood pumping, and challenge ourselves.
Maybe something everyone can’t live without is an opportunity to live outside of reality.
